This is a fabulous combination treatment for anyone suffering with Repetitive Strain Injuries, Arthritic Hands, pinched nerves in the neck, causing neck pain, arm pain, hand pain to name but a very few, why not read on below for the amazing benefits of this combined treatment.
Why Hand Reflexology?
Hand reflexology can help maintain manual dexterity and rejuvenate tired hands, wrists and arms. It can also provide support for conditions such as arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome and RSI. Hand reflexology can be used a great self-help tool and I often provide my clients with hand reflexology points to work as an extra boost in between foot reflexology sessions. A 45 minute hand reflexology treatment using acupressure points has many benefits in this area. As most people use their hands to some extent in their professional lives as well as their personal lives, it could be argued that anyone and everyone can benefit from using hand reflexology on a ‘preventative medicine’ basis.
What are the benefits of Hand Reflexology?
As with many complementary therapies, most clients report that their health has improved either specifically or generally from treatment, yet there is currently little scientific research available to either verify or refute the many benefits associated with hand reflexology. As well as improving circulation and well-being, the therapy is said to:
▪️Benefit conditions that typically affect the hands and wrists, including arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome and RSI;
▪️Aid recovery from hand injury;
▪️Help maintain manual dexterity;
▪️Rejuvenate overused or tired hands.

Why Indian Head Massage?
Massaging the head, neck and shoulders can prevent further problems building up in the hands and arms and the general loosening up of muscles can help with the flexibility needed for other forms of exercise. Massage therapy can also use trigger point therapy and Acupressure. Stretching and strengthening of muscles are crucial in improving your condition. Neck stretching and traction’s are part of Sharon’s Advanced techniques in Indian Head Massage.
Massage is the systematic manipulation of soft tissue using a form of touch which promotes comfort and relaxation. It is therefore likely to provide some relief from the symptoms of RSI. Massage therapists use the sensitivity of their hands, clients’ report of symptoms and range-of-movement exercises to detect tissue damage. It is, on the whole, a safe and non-invasive technique. Deep tissue massage works to release tension and stimulate circulation of the blood and lymph to improve the supply of oxygen and removal of waste products.
If you believe that symptoms described on this site sound similar to your own symptoms that have been directly caused as a consequence of your employment, it may be worth checking out your benefit plans with your employer to see if your benefits cover this type of therapy. Or perhaps make a suggestion to have this therapy covered in your benefits plan? Receipts are given by Sharon at Cocoa Heaven for Reflexology sessions.
