Mindfulness, Meditation and Restorative Yoga Workshops

Mindfulness and Meditation Series commences may 2022

COCOA HEAVEN MINDFULNESS & MEDITATION CENTRE

A 5 WEEK SERIES IN MINDFULNESS AND MEDITATION AT 

COCOA HEAVEN WELLNESS STUDIO IN TRENTON

Series Dates : May 24th and 31st

June 7th, July 7th and 14th

Be Calm, Be Happy in this 5 week group course teaching mindfulness and meditation an effective counter balance to the stresses of life.

Each class includes guided mindfulness exercises and meditations, led by a certified facilitator in a warm, friendly atmosphere.

Each of these sessions will focus on a different theme, with an introduction, grounding, breath connection and relaxation followed by a guided meditation OR mindful sessions and suggestions for developing your home practice.

Course content:

Session 1: Guardian Angel with Aromatherapy scalp massage 

Session 2: Medicine Woman and Healing the Body, Mind & Soul

Session 3: Mindfulness Exercises and Chocolate Meditation 

Session 4: Spirit Animal and Candle Meditation

Session 5: Chakra Meditation with Reiki Healing and Sound Healing 

Reported benefits:  Increased enjoyment of life, ability to be calm and relaxed, control of emotions such as anger and anxiety, Improved sleep quality, Fewer feelings of anxiety and depression.

This course is suitable for beginners, as well as those wishing to refresh their mindfulness practice. It is suitable for those of all faiths and none.

Course Leader:  Sharon Young (FDSC). British Degree Trained Complementary Healthcare and Integrative Medicine Therapist.

This course is taught over 5 weeks:

Tuesdays OR Thursdays 

Each class is 1.5 hours long and the class timings are 6.30pm - 8pm We recommend that you aim to arrive 10 minutes before each class is due to start to allow us time to greet each other informally and allow yourself time to settle.  Herbal tea available at the end of every session.

Mindfulness is both a skill and an attitude toward living that originated thousands of years ago as part of Buddhist philosophy. According to the Buddha, mental suffering (or inner stress) occurs because we cling to positive experiences, not wanting them to end, and we strive to avoid pain, sadness, and other negative experiences.  If you're a interested in building a strong foundation of HOW to practice mindfulness, using an approach that is based on science and reason, then this is the course for you! We meet together as an online group once every 2 weeks, where we discover different ways of practising mindfulness. Worksheets are given and journalling, coming together as a group makes us so much stronger.  We also perform a different style of meditation or mindfulness exercise each session.

What is Restorative Yoga?

The practice of Restorative yoga refers to supported postures that are held for varied lengths of time to allow the body to relax and the nervous system to move towards homeostasis, the body’s natural resting phase.

How does Restorative Yoga work?

When our body achieves this stableness we activate our Parasympathetic Nervous System which is known as the “rest and digest” nervous system. The contrast is the Sympathetic Nervous System which is our “fight or flight” nervous system.

Join Sharon for this fabulous workshop and learn some self help tools for your own meditations mindfulness practice. An enjoyable, relaxing, interactive and creative workshop. Making mantra stones, your own personalised meditation oil and learn more about creating your own sacred meditation space with the use of element tools. LEARN MORE ABOUT INCORPORATING THE ELEMENTS INTO YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE, WHAT HOW WHEN!

All materials and handouts are supplied on the day. Sharon has a British Degree in Integrative Medicine, is a Certified Mindfulness and Meditation Practitioner and stress management tutor.


Mindfulness and Stress release workshops new dates commencing in FALL 2022

A 3 day workshop.  This workshop will look at stress management tools, the use of essential oils in stress relief, how it actually works ! you will learn some hand reflexology techniques which have been clinically proven to reduce blood pressure and relieve stress AND Specialised breath optimised transformational techniques that has proven benefits amongst athletes and high stress demand jobs, you will learn what a breath lock is how the limbic brain works , PMR, visualization and how to ģain better skills at your sensualisaton techniques AND oh so much more! this workshop is the perfect opportunity to learn some self healing aids and offer some techniques to your family friends,  Calling yoga Teachers you can use it in your yoga classes this is NOT TO BE MISSED! ONLY.

Handouts included and this is a practical session with detailed instructions in stress and self help healing


Mindfulness & meditation sessions

Our Introduction to Mindfulness and Meditation classes are 1.5 hours and is typically held on Tuesday or Thursday evenings.  These classes provide you with an opportunity to sample meditations and learn about mindfulness.  You will also receive some resources to start a daily meditation practice and to start living more mindfully.  We finish the sessions with herbal teas and general chat if you wish to stay back for 15 minutes.  These are sold in 5 week sessions and we add some therapy work during the class, for example Reiki with Tuning Forks, Indian Head Massage etc


RESTORATIVE YOGA

A style of yoga practice using props and postures held for longer periods of time to initiate deep relaxation of the body, mind and spirit. Restorative yoga is beneficial to balance a more active practice or decompress after a stressful day.  Online classes coming soon.  Free class click on the link above.
